Also, in one of my previous positions, I would tell people that our coin-counting machines could stop on a dime - literally!

Taking Initiative as a Goal-Oriented Self-Starter

I took the initiative to write a PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) motor controller for a coin-counting machine. I wanted the machine to run at a constant speed.  It made exact bag stops more accurate.

Leadership and Team-Building

I have mentored interns in previous positions.  I also serve as the Vice-President of my computer club, and have also served as the club's newsletter editor.

Volunteering

I have volunteered to help in various capacities with my computer club's annual festival.  I have taught elementary school children about electromagnets.  I have also helped with microphone wiring at my church.
